Student Special Needs

All students enrolled at Future Education Group are required to fill out a special learning needs form to identify any language, literacy, numeracy, learning style, physical, intellectual, cultural and religious issues which may impact upon their ability to effectively study with FEG.  Students found to have special learning needs are reported to the Course Coordinator by the admissions department prior to the student’s entering a classroom and the Course Coordinator will formulate a customised learning plan and approach to ensuring the student receives suitable and personalised instruction.

Personalised learning plans for individuals with special learning needs will be implemented and monitored by the Course Coordinator and relevant trainer/s.  It is understood that not all issues will be identified in the initial screening and as such trainers are encouraged to discuss with the Course Coordinator any special learning needs they identify in individuals or groups they are teaching.  Together the trainer and Course Coordinator will adjust the delivery methods to suit the student needs.

A range of provision and support services is available within FEG for students with disabilities and additional learning needs. The types of educational options available are:

  • Inclusion in regular classrooms with additional support
  • Special Educational facilities
  • Dictionary/Electronic Dictionary
  • Modified Keyboard, Monitor and Mouse
  • Special arrangement for assessment
  • Modified Furniture
  • Any other possible and reasonable support

Students with special needs have the right to access an inclusive curriculum that is broad, balanced and relevant and meets individual needs.
